Here’s another BSA Airborne bicycle for sale, ready to add to the collection of a vintage or military enthusiast somewhere around the world. This one came from another one of my friends, who restored it. It’s ideal for showing, and you can ride it too.
I have assessed the bike, and this is my report:
The paint and headstock transfers are new. Everything is original specification except –
1. It’s fitted with a period saddle but it’s not a Brooks or BSA saddle.
2. Tyres are modern ones with old-style tread pattern.
3. It has BSA pattern reproduction handlebar grips.
4. The sliding pedals are original, and they slide freely, though they are missing the small screw that holds them in place.
5. The rear wheel does not have a BSA hub; it’s a fixed wheel hub.
6. The brakes are correct, but one brake need adjusting.
There are a few small dents in the frame, which can be clearly seen in the photos.
Otherwise, this bike is in good condition all round. It folds easily, and is ready to ride or display.
